Mike and Beth Shirk
We are water media artists, and are both physically disabled.
But from that point on, our approaches to art are very
different.
Beth is an intuitive painter who loves to explore different media and techniques. Her subjects are taken from nature but her style is quite abstract.
Mike is a transparent watercolorist who loved the challenge of composing pictures en plein air, before his disability became too great. Now he works in his studio from his original sketches and memory. Many of his paintings depict scenes of San Diego and elsewhere along the Pacific Coast.
